Does Your Horse Refuse to go in the Trailer? Clinton Wants to Help!

1121_03

Next spring, Clinton will be filming an in-depth, how-to video series about teaching horses to safely and willingly load in the trailer. In order to show the complete training process in his videos, including horse problems and handler mistakes, Clinton likes to work with untrained horses or horses with problems to show viewers what is likely to happen when they go out to work with their personal horses. In this new series, not only will Clinton be training the horses, but he’ll also give the horses’ owners a one-on-one lesson to learn how to execute his trailering technique.

To make the series the most educational, we are looking for horses that have a sincere longstanding fear or dislike of the trailer. These are the types of horses that take hours to get on the trailer. The filming will take place at the Downunder Horsemanship Ranch in Stephenville, Texas on Thursday, March 29th. We’re on the hunt for four horses and their owners for Clinton to train during the filming of the series.

Rules:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must have either a mare or a gelding to work with. No stallions, mules or donkeys.

How to Apply:

  • Fill out the “Trailering Problems” application on our website https://downunderhorsemanship.com//tv/rfd-tv/casting-call/. You’ll be asked to explain your horse’s trailering problem as well as share a short (one to three minute) video of what your horse does when you ask him to load in the trailer. Videos must be live footage – no picture slideshows will be accepted.
  • Application deadline is February 1st.

If You’re Chosen:

  • If you and your horse fit Clinton’s requirements, you’ll be contacted by a Downunder Horsemanship team member at the beginning of 2018.
  • The filming is scheduled to take place at the ranch on March 29th. You will be responsible for getting yourself and your horse to the ranch for filming.
  • If you’re chosen for filming, your horse will stay at the ranch in a clinic run that includes a two-sided shelter, lockable storage area and an automatic waterer. You will also be welcome to utilize one of the ranch’s RV spaces.
