At the Waterloo, Iowa Walkabout Tour, Clinton honored event managers and longtime team members Gordon and April Schultz with a Downunder Horsemanship Lifetime Achievement Award.

The couple started their journey with Downunder Horsemanship as volunteers at the 2007 Walkabout Tour in St. Pual, Minnesota. Their work ethic and passion for the Method impressed the Downunder Horsemanship team so much that they soon became permanent fixtures with the company as road crew members.

Gordon and April spent years traveling around the country helping Clinton put on tours and working at his three-day horsemanship clinics. When he reached out to them in 2017 about becoming the company’s event managers while juggling their fulltime jobs, they stepped up to lead our road team.

Throughout the many years Gordon and April have been associated with Downunder Horsemanship, they’ve earned Clinton’s respect and trust. “Gordon and April have played a key part in Downunder Horsemanship’s success. They exemplify our core values of hard working, ambitious, loyal and personable,” Clinton says. “Their passion for making sure our events go off smoothly and their attention to detail is second to none. It was only fitting to honor them with the lifetime achievement award at our very last tour.”

Gordon and April are the fifth recipients of the special award. Previous honorees include: Ken Thalman, Rick Badousek, Harry Bunton and John Zimmerman. Clinton created the Lifetime Achievement Award to recognize individuals who have inspired him throughout his career as a clinician.
