Prada’s First Foals Are Arriving

Prada’s first foals are making their arrival. Prada is Clinton’s reined cow horse mare owned by Melissa Sims. Last year, Clinton and Melissa decided to breed the 7-year-old roan mare. “Because I’m still training and showing Prada, the foals will all be born through embryo transfer,” Clinton says.

He selected four stallions to breed Prada to – Smart Chic Olena, Gunnatrashya, Woody Be Tuff and Dual Rey. In total, Prada will have eight foals this year. “I’m excited to see how Prada crosses with each of the stallions. She has exceptional bloodlines herself. She is by the legendary Metallic Cat and out of the Shining Spark mare, Shiney Sparklette,” Clinton says.

Smart Chic Olena is one of my all-time favorite horses. He was inducted into the American Quarter Horse Association, National Reining Horse Association and National Reined Cow Horse Association Hall of Fame. He earned $167,471 in cutting and reining and has sired 17 AQHA world champions, 31 AQHA reserve world champions, three NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity champions and two NRHA open futurity champions.

Gunnatrashya is the 2009 NRHA Open Futurity champion, the 2009 Congress Open Futurity champion and the 2010 NRHA Open Derby champion. He earned $236,457 in the show pen and his offspring have won over $13 million.

Woody Be Tuff’s foals have earned over $12 million across a variety of western disciplines including cutting, reined cow horse, roping, ranch riding, barrel racing and reining. The sorrel stallion was a standout cutter himself, earning $351,063 in the show pen.

“AQHA of Fame stallion, Dual Rey, won $105,038 in the show pen and is the number three all-time National Cutting Horse Association Leading Sire. His foals have earned over $52 million.”

So far, two of the foals have arrived. Both are fillies, one by Dual Rey and the other by Woody Be Tuff. Stay tuned to the No Worries Club website and Downunder Horsemanship social media to see announcements of the foals’ arrivals.
